The throat bush controls the clearance at the impeller eye and guides slurry into the impeller. Frame plate and cover plate liners protect the stationary end plates. Premature throat-bush wear is a common cause of unscheduled shutdowns.
Liners are cast or moulded to the original bolt pattern and sealing groove. Composite liners are bonded under controlled temperature and pressure, then machined to final dimension.
