FAQ

What is a slurry pump? +
A centrifugal pump engineered to move abrasive, high-density slurries that would quickly destroy a standard water pump. Key wet-end parts — impeller, volute liner, throatbush and frame plate liner — are built from hard metals or elastomers selected for the duty.
How do I select the right slurry pump? +
Send us flow rate (m³/h), total head (m), slurry specific gravity and solids concentration, plus maximum particle size, pH and temperature. Our engineers cross-check the duty point against pump curves and recommend the best series, size and material.
Are Matec parts interchangeable with Warman® pumps? +
Yes — our wet-end parts are engineered to the dimensional and material standards of Warman® slurry pumps for drop-in replacement without retrofit. Matec is an independent aftermarket manufacturer and is not affiliated with Weir Minerals. See legal notice.
Is every supplier's "A05 high-chrome" the same? +
No. A05 is a standard grade, but some producers use lower-chrome iron (around 15% Cr) and still call it A05-equivalent to reduce cost. Matec supplies the genuine Cr27-class high-chrome iron that A05 represents, with material certificates available on request. If a price looks too low, ask for the Cr content and hardness report before you buy.
What wet-end materials does Matec offer? +
High-chrome alloys (A05, A07, A49 equivalent), manganese steel, natural and synthetic rubber (R55, R26), polyurethane, and composite/ceramic options for the most severe duties. Material selection is based on particle size, abrasiveness, corrosiveness and temperature.
How long do slurry pump wear parts last? +
Wear life depends on duty severity, material choice, operating point and maintenance. We benchmark against your current part and operating data to project improvement, then validate with trial measurements where possible.
Can you reverse-engineer parts without original drawings? +
Yes. We can reproduce exact geometry from worn or new samples using dimensional measurement and casting/moulding replication. This is common for legacy pumps and proprietary OEM designs.
What information do I need to request a quote? +
For pumps: flow, head, slurry properties and voltage/frequency. For parts: pump model or OEM part name, material grade, quantity, and destination port. Photos or drawings help us confirm geometry faster.
Do you keep stock, or is everything made to order? +
We carry common high-wear parts in A05 and rubber for fast shipment. Non-standard sizes, special materials and complete pump orders are produced to order with lead times quoted per project.
What warranty do you offer? +
We provide a full lifecycle warranty against material and workmanship defects under normal operating conditions. Warranty terms are confirmed in writing with each quotation.
How do you package and ship parts internationally? +
Parts are packed in seaworthy wooden crates or pallets with VCI protection where needed. We provide full export documentation including packing list, commercial invoice, certificate of origin and material certificates on request.
